Within the transmission housing of your vehicle are two steel trans bands that are actuated by two pistons and hydraulic cylinders. These automatic transmission components work to connect and lock the gear train to the housing unit. The transmission is the part of the engine responsible for shifting gears either during acceleration or deceleration.
Properly working trans bands help your vehicle shift safely and consistently between gears.
